I had the privilege recently of shaping a board for a retiring military officer. Ismael, a soldiers serving under this officer called me up with the request. He wanted a decorative bored with a symbol of the company he was in burned into it. The catch was that they needed the board on in a little over a week which was pushing it to say the least.
Luckily I had a few friends who are willing to help and after Mark Lee, a great photographer and wood board shaper helped me with joining mahogany we used, another friend Andrew Suamataia, I was able to help me with the burning. As you can see he didn’t awesome job. They were super stoked on the board when they picked it up to give to the office or the next day at his surprise party and I hope the officer was too.
